Canine Good Citizen Class and Test

The Canine Good Citizen Program helps dogs develop good manners at home and in the community. This program stresses responsible pet ownership and good manners for dogs. Help your dog learn basic skills to live a happy and less stressed life.

This class is designed to take your dog through the steps to obtain Canine Good Citizen certification. Learn to communicate with your dog without using treats.

CGC is the most rapidly growing dog trainer class world-wide. We will be practicing all of the needed behaviors your dog needs to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test. Dogs must have an expert level of basic training, have a love of people and be non-aggressive. Please remember no dog is too old to become a canine good citizen. Certification is approved by The American Kennel Club

Skills you dog will learn:
Petting - Sitting politely for petting from a friendly stranger with their owner
Grooming – Your dog will allow someone like a groomer or veterinarian to check it’s ears and front feet
Reaction to Distraction – A loud distraction won’t startle your dog
Out for a Walk - Your dog will learn how walk on a loose lead with their owner
